Week 4

This week was very intensive for me. I read some articles on using interactive web for teaching reading and writing: "Using the Internet for ESL writing instructions" by Jarek Krajka and "Using Internet -based children`s literature to teach EFL" by Larry Mikulecky.
I wrote a technology-enhanced lesson plan for class 6c where students are going to create comics about respectful behavior in the virtual social space. We are going to take part in Comic strip competition on Safer Internet Day 11 February.
To describe the problem/issue was quite easy for me as I know that my students have listening problems, so I would like to focus on listening skills using authentic materials from various websites.
I added some useful links to my Delicious page.
I am looking forward to next week!

  1. Dear Rita,

I find your technology-enhanced lesson plan really interesting and different from others I've seen, particularly because it's linked to an event in the real world, something that undoubtedly will motivate your students. Hope you keep in the same track for future plans.

By the way, I don't think you have published your photo in the photo page Donna created for us, maybe because you just missed it or maybe because you don't want to. If this is the case, please disregard my request, but if it's not, it would be nice to see you picture among those already published.

Finally I published my photo in the photo page Donna created for us. I just hadn`t time to find an appropriate photo of me!

  2. Hi Rita,

Students love digital storytelling. Not that I have a great experience, but Dvolver is a very user-friendly tool and I'm sure they will create something cute. Do share with us, will you?
    Greetings from Portugal,
    Alex

    1. Hi Alex,
I just added Dvolver to my Delicious page for now. First I have to explore myself, how to create. Of course, I will share when we create something!
      Best wishes, Rita
